How long have you been with the company?
I remember my father taking me to “the shop” my grandfather started when I was young. In 1999, I was interested in joining the family business, and was excited to learn the knowledge and skills that started with my grandfather, and was then passed on down to my father. I started out learning the basics as a machine operator that year. I was later promoted to Shift Supervisor, and then Production Manager and finally Plant Manager, my current role. I feel fortunate to be able to walk in my father’s footsteps, holding the position that he held for so many years, and continue that family legacy.

Why are you proud to work at United Wire?
I am proud to be continuing the work that my Grandfather started, and using his knowledge and expertise to further our business. I enjoy building new, customized machines that are specific to our needs, and maintaining the ones that both he and my father built. I look forward to teaching all I’ve learned about the wire industry to my sons one day.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working with my family every day. I love our employees, many whom I’ve worked with for over 20 years. I love serving an industry that I feel is important, and impacts our everyday lives.

As United Wire expands, what is your role in helping to foster that growth?
I’ll be working to upgrade our existing equipment, as well as helping with the effort to increase capacity with with the new FENN equipment we have coming in to serve the medical industry.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I spend most of my time with my wife Maureen and my 4 children Brad, Jack, Guy, and Rhia, cooking, playing games, or spending time in the backyard together.
