Made in flat, square or specialty shaped profiles per your requirements.

United Wire is proud to offer shaped wire in a wide range of carbon steel grades with both galvanized and tin/zinc coatings available.
From low carbon 1006 and depending upon availability up to 1095, many different sizes and shapes can be rolled from the various carbon products.
Carbon steel wire is a type of steel wire primarily composed of iron and carbon. It is one of the most common and widely used materials in various industries due to its affordability, durability, and versatility.
The properties of carbon steel wire are determined by its carbon content and other alloying elements.

Carbon steel can roughly be broken down into three classes based on carbon content

Low-Carbon Steel

0.05 to 0.309% carbon content. Low-carbon steel is the most common form of steel because its price is relatively low while it provides material properties that are acceptable for many applications. Low carbon steel is often referred to as cold-rolled. We offer all tempers, from No. 5 Dead soft to No. 1 Full hard.

Medium-Carbon Steel

Approximately 0.3–0.8% carbon content Balances ductility and strength and has good wear resistance; used for large parts, forging and automotive components. The most common medium carbon would be a Hard Drawn or HDMB.

High-Carbon Steel

Approximately 0.8–2.0% carbon content Very strong, used for various springs and high-strength wire products. There are a few different grades of high-carbon steels available; Music Wire, Chrome Silicon, Chrome Vanadium, & Oil tempered.
